A Bit About Me

I am a pre-licensed, Master's level professional addiction counselor with lived experience. Having navigated my own path to recovery enables a deeper understanding of the challenges faced on the path. This personal journey has not only cultivated empathy but also fueled my determination to create a space where individuals feel heard, understood, and supported. I work to foster a safe space free from judgment for open and honest conversations. I am a compassionate advocate, understanding the complexities of addiction and the need for a caring presence.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I find solace and inspiration in nature, immerse myself in the therapeutic power of music, bodywork, and interpersonal relationships. I look forward to the privilege of supporting you on your path to recovery. Remember, there is strength in seeking help, and every journey begins with a single step!

Philosophy and Approach

My counseling philosophy is deeply rooted in person-centered and mindfulness-based approaches. I believe in the inherent capacity of individuals to drive their own healing process. By fostering a non-judgmental and empathetic therapeutic relationship, I empower clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with self-compassion and mindfulness.

Recognizing the influence of one's environment on the recovery journey, I adopt an ecosystems perspective. This holistic view considers the interconnected web of relationships, social dynamics, and cultural factors that shape an individual's experiences. Understanding these influences is vital in tailoring interventions that resonate with the client's unique context.

Drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I offer a comprehensive and tailored approach to treatment. DBT enhances emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, while CBT addresses maladaptive thought patterns. Solution-focused techniques empower clients to envision and work towards a future aligned with their values. In addition to traditional modalities, somatic psychotherapy techniques are employed that explore and address the impact of trauma and stress on the physical body. This integrative approach allows clients to tap into the wisdom stored in their bodies, promoting holistic healing and recovery.

My educational journey has also included Christian counseling studies, enriching my practice with the values of compassion, love, and the transformative power of faith. Additionally, my background in Buddhist philosophy has instilled a deep appreciation for mindfulness, acceptance, and the interconnectedness of all beings. I recognize the importance of spirituality in the recovery process and honor diverse belief systems, providing a space for individuals to explore their spiritual dimensions as an integral part of their healing journey.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, collaborative, and empowering space where individuals can embark on a transformative journey toward lasting recovery. Grounded in professional expertise and personal understanding, I am committed to guiding clients toward holistic well-being and a renewed sense of purpose.
